Whether you choose a single strand or mix and match – CoMA International Summer School provides unique opportunities to mingle, make music and make friends with other musicians within and across disciplines. The Summer School programme also includes evening concerts, late night cabarets, masterclasses and taster sessions in composition, singing and music theatre.
Allcomers Strings Tutors > Stuart Hazelton, Robin Michael and Darragh Morgan
A dedicated string course with JS Bach’s Art of Fugue, Philip Glass' iconic Company, Beethoven's Opus 95, music chosen from works of Hindemith, RVW and Nielsen plus chamber music
Composers Masterclasses Tutor > Michael Finnissy
The course will be tailored to all those taking part. Based on group discussions, in-course composition, one-to-one and group tutorials, participants will also have the opportunity of hearing works composed by them prior to the course played by the Fidelio Trio and flexibly scored ensemble.
Vocal and Choral music Tutors > Gregory Rose and Mathew Sharp
Warm up and vocal techniques plus a heavenly mix of Machaut, dramatic madrigals,Part and Tavener Or meet the challenge of performing major contemporary works for solo voice.
Music Theatre Tutors > Matthew Sharp and Adam Swayne
Devise powerful music theatre, through experiments and collaborations with physical movement, voice and gesture. Plus piano theatre with Adam Swayne
Piano Tutors > Mary Dullea and Adam Swayne
Develop sound techniques and practice in order to take on great contemporary and classical works of the piano, as well as options to perform duets and in string chamber works.
Contemporary ensemble Tutors > Stuart Hazelton, Gregory Rose and Adam Swayne
New works for orchestra including workshops led by Robin Michael of works for solo cello and flexibly scored ensemble resulting from an international Call for Pieces.
Camping, hostel and ensuite accommodation with numerous options ranging from self-catering to full board. Prices from £280 (self-catering camping) to £590 (fully inclusive single room with shower).
